I almost didn't post this one, because I was really trying to find pictures I hadn't seen drawn here a million times. But I don't think I looked hard enough. I dropped the gamma on this a bit, because it scans so light. So you couldn't really see any of the shading. I think I shaded a little better on the face, and I layered the dark areas so it didn't seem as grainy. Now I really need to practice hair, as I think I did a pretty bad job on this one. Thanks to everyone for your wonderful tips. They have helped a lot.
I almost didn't click on this because i thought it was a photo. Of course, it's not, and it's very good. It's funny that you don't like it because I don't see anything not to like, but as artists we all nit pick our work I think. Keep at it!
Funny you should say that, I thought the same thing when I looked at your milk bottle drawing. It takes a whole lot of talent to draw glass and you did a wonderful job. Thanks for the comment. I'm sure I'm doomed to forever be unsatisfied with my work. But I still do, and it helps when at least one person enjoys it.
hair is perfect! it is all perfect! that should be a silkscreen art print!
don't fret on hair you handled it just right.. less is more... just look at any painting of movie stars of the era.
Thank you! I don't think I would have improved so much without your tutorial. So thanks again for that. And I also I forgot to thank you for putting me on your journal. It was a while back, but I really appreciate it.
I really appreciate your lovely comments. I doubt anyone would buy it, if only because not a lot of people see my page. And I wouldn't really know how to go about it. I'm starting to warm up to the hair. I guess when you see the same piece, and it looks perfect, it's hard not to compare. Anyway, thanks again for takin' a look.
We want to know what love means to you!
Get your creative juices flowing and design a movie poster for "Paper Heart" that focuses on the theme "What Does Love Mean to Me?".
The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
